Dear Friends & Members of EPSC.

The Iwanicki Family thanks you all for the beautiful flowers in Ed's memory. He loved this club and his "friends" as well. We surely will miss his seafood meals, his wit and his helpfulness. Ed leaves us with many memories.

Thanks Again to all.

Sincerely, Sandy Iwanicki

Hello gentlemen,

Its Brian Iwanicki,  I just wanted to give you guys an update on Dad's condition. He has been slow to recover fully from the procedure he had back in Feb to remove fluid from around his lung and removal of a tumor on his diaphragm. He was having bouts of hiccups and trouble catching his breath, but was getting better. He was gaining weight and had a pretty good appetite. His biggest issue was tiredness and mobility. He went last Tues for a check up and scan. They found a few new cells that the Chemo weren't controlling. One behind his right lung , and small ones on his Liver and kidney. They decided to take him off the oral Chemo and start on a more aggressive IV treatment.  They also noticed his blood count was a little low. Hoping to help regain some energy he received a few pints of blood on Fri. Over the weekend he seemed to be getting more tired, and was having more difficulty moving around. He was also showing signs of loss of motor skills and speech difficulty. On Sun we took him to the ER. After a long night there, a CAT scan revealed that the cancer has spread to his brain. The swelling from them has caused pressure, which is causing the new issues. Yesterday he had a MRI that showed 6 cells. Four are the size of a pencil eraser and the other 2 are still small. The plan is to treat them with radiation, which we are hoping can start today, tomorrow at the latest. The hope is that the radiation will get rid of the cells on his brain, and when he can start the IV Chemo that will help with the other cells. At this time he is very weak and is back down to 165lbs, we are all hoping he has the strength to continue to fight this. As of now he is in Virtua Mt Holly room 511, no news yet as to how long he will be in there. But i think its safe to say they want to keep him till his weight and strength start to return. And they have a great radiology dept. right there which is partnered with Fox Chase who is his primary for treatment.

It goes without saying that this is all pretty devastating to all of us. In the last year we have watched him go from Good Old Ed, to a shadow of himself. Jeff and I are trying our best to remain strong for my Mom and sister. And Allen and Tommy are always there with us. I know how bad it is hurting him not to be attending EPSC meetings, cooking for the guys at the Club, and of course fishing. We can only hope and pray that there is a good ending to this ordeal, he has always been such a strong man, this is truly a test to that strength. Please let all the other EPSC members know how he is doing, as well as the PACC guys. I really look forward to walking back in that door with him someday soon for a few beers with everyone.

Brian
